Chicago Theatre Access Auditions

Attention non-union actors! Applications are open for the Chicago Theatre Access Auditions. What is this, you ask? It’s a chance to be seen by Chicago’s Equity theatres. If you’ve ever tried to attend an Equity audition as a non-union actor, you know how tough it is. You wait around all day hoping to be seen, only to be told that they won’t have time for you after all. “But feel free to leave your headshot and resume,” they always say.

Who has the time for that? Thus, the Chicago Theatre Access Auditions were born. If selected, you will have 90 seconds to perform a monologue for several of Chicago’s Equity and Non-Equity theatres. And the best part? It’s absolutely free. There is no application fee or cost to participate. So what are you waiting for? Applications close THIS Sunday, October 13th. Get on it!

Fall Has Arrived

It’s finally Fall - my favorite time of year. Time for apple festivals, salted caramel mochas and a wardrobe refresh. It’s also the time of year when shooting schedules for tv and film are in full swing, which means a higher demand for self tapes. From now through Halloween, I’m offering $5 off a half hour session or $10 off an hour session. Just mention this post in your email when you contact me for your appointment.

This week we say farewell to Hamilton’s Jonathan Kirkland, who played George Washington in the Chicago production. You never who is going to stop by the studio!

Winners of the 2017 Equity Joseph Jeff Awards

     The 2017 Equity Joseph Jeff Awards were held this past Monday, November 6 at Drury Lane Oakbrook. Paramount Theatre and Porchlight Music Theatre were both big winners of the night. Hamilton in the House and More!

     What a fun week in the studio! Wallace Smith, who plays Hercules Mulligan/James Madison in Hamilton, was in for a taping, and Armando Riesco was back for the second time in less than a week. You can currently see Armando starring in The Fundamentals at Steppenwolf. Thanks for coming in, fellas!
